In a democracy, voting is the MOST important citizen RESPONSIBILITY.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITY
- Your rights FOLLOW the fulfillment of your responsibilities.
- Voting rights and responsibilities are woven into the moral fabric of democracy.
- It is ironic that it’s not illegal NOT to vote.
- Every responsibility ignored causes the matching right to evaporate a little.
FOLLOW-UP RESPONSIBILITY
- A public servant who is guided by "servant leadership" seeks follow-up and feedback from their constituency (we voters).
- Especially in this day of the internet and email, we can extend our basic vote by sending messages of approval or disapproval. BOTH ARE IMPORTANT.
- As we voters would expect in our own jobs, ultimately poor performance may put our positions in jeopardy. IN THE CASE OF ELECTED PUBLIC SERVANTS, THEY SHOULD BE "RECALLED" THROUGH USE OF THE RIGHT TO VOTE.
- However, recalling or impeaching an elected public servant is not intended as a forum for resolving issues between citizens. Servant leadership should not be rewarded by a recall. These remedies are not political weapons.
